A little About Us

 

Dr. Benjamin Russell

Dr. Russell is originally from South Carolina. He completed his undergraduate training at Clemson University and graduated from dental school at the Medical University of South Carolina in 2004. Upon moving to Portland he completed a General Practice Residency at the Portland Veterans Affairs Medical Center followed by an Advanced Specialty Education in Periodontics at the Oregon Health & Science University. Since receiving his certificate in periodontology, Dr. Russell has been an associate at a prestigious private practice in Hillsboro and was employed by his alma mater, OHSU, serving as an Assistant Professor in the Graduate Periodontology Department. In 2010 Dr. Russell started his own practice in Gresham and added an additional location in Portland in 2013.

Dr. Russell is a diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology, past president of the Oregon Society of Periodontology, member of the Oregon Dental Association, the Academy of Osseointegration, the American Dental Association, and the American Academy of Periodontology. He is also actively involved in programs providing quality continuing education to our excellent referring dentists and the dental community in general.

Though committed to quality care for his patients, Dr. Russell makes time to spend with his wife and two children, as well as family back in South Carolina. He enjoys golf, skiing and other outdoor activities along with cheering on the Clemson Tigers.

Dr. Sei Kim

Dr. Kim joined Eastside Periodontics in 2019. She is excited be a part of this community and meet other dental providers who share similar beliefs on treatment philosophies and approach to patient care.

Dr. Sei Kim grew up in Happy Valley, OR and attended Clackamas High School. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in General Science and Bachelor of Arts degrees in both Spanish and International Studies at Oregon State University. While at OSU, she lived abroad in Ecuador learning Spanish in a rural indigenous community. As part of her international studies thesis, she studied the bio-cultural perspectives on nutrition and pregnancy and their impact on oral health care in rural Ecuador.

Dr. Kim received her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree at Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, CA. Returning home and entering the Advanced Education Program in Periodontics at Oregon Health and Science University, she earned a certificate in periodontology and a Masters in Science.

She has volunteered with the Tooth Taxi, which helps many of Oregon’s underserved children. Dr. Kim has also travelled to Guatemala on dental services trips, providing treatment for many children with little or no access to routine dental care.

Dr. Kim is fluent in Korean and Spanish. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, traveling and spending time with her family. You will often see Dr. Kim with her Cavapoo, Churro, by her side.
